Visitor arrivals increased last month

Australia citizens remain the highest visitors flocking into the country for holidays and business.

Provisional numbers show that visitor arrivals for last month reached a record of 68,495 an increase of 17.8 percent compared to same period last year. 30,951 of whom were Aussies.

According to statistical news, there were increase in the number of visitors from most countries last month except for visitors from United Kingdom, which decreased by 1.5 percent.

Visitors arriving for holidays accounted for 76.2 percent of total arrivals, 9.0 percent came to visit friends and families, 3.9 percent for business purposes while 10.9 percent visited for other reasons.

The majority of visitors to Fiji last month were in the age range 25 to 64 years.
