More Vanuatu students will now study at the Fiji National University after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Vanuatu Institute of Technology yesterday.

The signing took place at FNU Nasinu Campus.

Principal Vanuatu Institute of Technology Jack Graham said FNU has been a beacon of timeless learning for many Vanuatu citizens.

He said FNU had produced Vanuatu graduates and contributed to their nation’s development.

“Today’s signing clearly marks another milestone in the history of co-operation partnership between Vanuatu and Fiji through VIT and FNU,” said Mr Graham.

FNU Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey said the partnership with the institute recognises the intention of FNU to co-operate in a broad range of areas and to work together with VIT for future benefit.

Professor Healey said the MOU would enable these students to learn from its Technical Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) and the National Training Productivity Centre (NTPC).

“Today is yet another step for the FNU to continue to transform the minds and lives of our people, and through this partnership we will see new leaders emerge to take on the helm of our society.”
