Assembly Aligns With Financial Slot

The Nadroga-Navosa Provincial council meeting has been postponed. This is because it has been aligned with the Government financial year moving it to June 28-29, says provincial senior assistant Roko Rusiate Raidaveta.
“Normally we have this meeting in February or March every year,” Mr Raidaveta said.
“Since the financial year has been changed from August to July we have rescheduled the dates.
“We will finalise our proposed budget for next year and review what we have achieved from our last meeting.”
He said the remaining business from their meeting in November last year would be discussed at the June gathering.
“This is the best time for us to discuss what we did not discuss in the last meeting and review our business plan,” he said.
Mr Raidaveta said the meeting would coincide with the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs Road Show.
“They will co-ordinate the road show with government departments and stakeholders like iTLTB (iTaukei Land Trust Board) and other institutions,” he said.
“One of the objectives of the iTaukei Affairs is to empower the people with economic benefits available.”
The meeting will be held at Nahigatoka Village hall at 10am.
