Community Encouraged Partnering With Police Against Criminal Activties

Let us never forget that we have a duty to protect our families, properties and the community from criminal activities, says Duavata Northern Crime Prevention Carnival committee president Satish Kumar.
He said this in light of the carnival which is scheduled from June 24 to July 1.
Mr Kumar reminded members of the public in the north to speak up against criminal activities. He also advised them to assist Police in keeping criminal activities at bay.
“We are calling on members of the community in the North to come forth and take the partnership with Police in our fight to stop crime,” he said.
“It is very important that we as community members work with the law enforcers to keep our communities safe.
“You have a duty to protect yourself, your family, your properties and others by being the eyes and ears of the Police, so call the Police.”
He said people were being more vocal by alerting Police when they were victimised.
“The youths have learnt or the victims know what they are supposed to do and that is why you must have seen the child and sex reports abuse going up. Before they used to hide all these things and they were frightened to go to the Police.”
“We have conducted our meeting; preparation is on and we have eight queens, five kings as well teens and princesses,” he said.
The aim is to raise $120,000 from the one-week event.
