FEXCO (Fiji) Ltd opened another outlet at the Hemran Plaza, Nausori yesterday.

Company’s general manager Steve Peregrino said the new branch would give the people of Nausori more and better access to their services.

“We’re happy to launch this new branch in Nausori and we are quite happy to serve the people of Nausori and Fiji,” Mr Peregrino said.

“This is also a good opportunity for us to tell the people that this is just one of the hopefully many more locations that will be opening up this year.”

Fexco Pacific began operation in Fiji in 2009.

It also has branches in New Zealand, where they are also based, Tonga, Samoa and other Pacific countries.

“We do have three services to offer. Money transfer through Western Union, Money exchange through our ‘Number 1 Currency’ brand and we also do business payment through the Fexco business service,” Mr Peregrino said.

The new branch is the first to open in Fiji this year, and according to Mr Peregrino, they have identified other areas where they would also open their outlets.

“There’s a few locations identified. A lot of the things are still up for discussion.

“We’re looking to end the year with eight to 10 branches in Fiji. We always listen to the needs and want of the customers and go where the customers want us to go,” he added.

On the employment opportunities, he said: “One branch will need two-three additional people, so we’ve hired new ones for this location and more for the new ones.

“We’re hiring new employees because we need very capable people to serve our customers in new branches, so as they open up we will be employing people,” Mr Peregrino said.

He said he was not able to disclose how much was invested into the new outlet.

“But you can imagine that this is an investment and the company is very keen in making those investments so we can hire and drive more employment and serve more customers and contribute to the Fiji economy.”
