Roy Out, Stay Positive

Vodafone Fijian football head coach Christophe Gamel says the players selected for tonight’s clash against the Solomon Islands need to have a positive attitude.
The Fiji- Solomon Island match kicks off at 7pm at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
Gamel announced the 25 players yesterday and missing out was Fiji’s wonderboy Roy Krishna who has commitment with his club Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand.
“I hope we can get him in for the second round on Sunday but Roy is always welcome to be part of the team,” Gamel said.
He said the players need to trust themselves and have a positive attitude.
“For what I have seen I feel that the team want to try their best and I trust the boys, they will act.
“My message to them is to play with pride of their country, Fiji is giving so much for the team and I’m always reminding the players to play to their best, work hard and do their country proud.”
The Frenchman understands the challenge they will face against the visitors who have two overseas- based players and some veterans who have been doing wonders for the country in the past.
“They play small pace, they push a lot in attack, very smart in dribbling so during training, we train hard in defence and attack,” Gamel said.
“It’s going to be a tough match but it’s good for us to learn and improve our performance.” He will name the team to play Solomon Islands today.
