Drasa Avenue Ready to Swim

Fijian National Schools Swimming Championship (FNSSC) Drasa Avenue Primary School hopes to do their best on Saturday.

The school farewelled their swimmers yesterday before they depart for Suva for the FNSSC which starts today at the Damodar Aquatic Centre in Suva.

School’s swimming co-ordinator Peni Vasuca said: “We are ready and we have a good team. Last year we had smaller team but this year we have 25 swimmers.”

Vasuca said they have been training for the last three months.

“Some of the challenges we faced is students not turning for training on Saturday.

“We had to speak to their parents to send their children for training,” he said

Head teacher Sashi Kumar said: “Swimming has been part of our school curriculum.

“Every Tuesday students go for their swimming classes at the Northern Club in Lautoka.

“I wish all the very best for our team.”
