The Pinto Industries Limited sponsored Labasa football side are recovering well after a hectic time during the group stage of the Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament.

Labasa Football Association vice-president, Varun Anand said yesterday that they have resumed training at Subrail Park after a week’s break.

“Now we’re focusing on the FACT semi-final where we face hosts Rewa,” he said.

“We are injury free and we are giving time to our national reps Christopher Wasasala and Antonio Tuivuna to recuperate as we need them to play against Rewa.”

However, it won’t be easy for the Babasiga Lions as their former striker Gabirieli Matanisiga is playing for Rewa and has formed a formidable combination with Iosefo Verevou.

Anand said they are not going to camp but are holding two training sessions a day.

He said the first session is from 9:30am to 11am while the second one is from 5pm to 6:45pm.

“We want our players to get together more often and I think that bond was lacking during our pool matches,” Anand added.

During the pool stages, Labasa thrashed Dreketi 4-0, drew with Ba 0-0 and edged out Nadi 1-0.

The Fiji FACT semifinals is set for Saturday, June 17, at Rau Cakobau Park, Nausori.
