The Telecom Fijiana rugby 7s team have dropped to fifth spot of the 2016/17 Women’s Sevens Series standings.

The Iliesa Tanivula coached- side had a disappointing start at the Langford Sevens in Canada where they finished at the bottom of their pool.

This was after they were beaten 19-14 by Ireland, 12-7 by Spain before they drew with Australia 24-24 to qualify for the Challenge Trophy.

The Fijians put that disappointment behind them by winning the Challenge Trophy, beating Spain 31-7 in the final with two stunning tries from Miriama Naiobasali. In the Challenge Trophy semis, they edged out Brazil 24-19 while Spain walloped Netherlands 31-0.
