National bowling pairs David Aitcheson and Rajnesh Prasad will be the team to beat during the 10th Fiji Airways Sunny West Bowling Carnival pairs event at the Nadi Sports and Social Club yesterday.

This was after they won their three games.

They won their first game by default, in the second game they beat Sophie Khan and Karen Lee 22-5 before they ousted Philip Taylor and Sandra Taylor 26-5.

They are also part of Team Sheraton that were crowned winners of the Fours competition last weekend.

Aitcheson said they are confident of retaining the pairs title.

“We’ve been facing tough competition, but we are handling it very well.

“The stiff competition has made us perform well and it has been an exciting tournament.

“Also these players that have been competing are number one in their clubs and they play very good bowling.”

He said they have been working hard and are focusing on retaining the title.

In the ladies category national reps Sheryl Mar and Loretta Kotoisuva continue to maintain their momentum but are also facing tough competition from other bowlers as well.
