Winning possession in contact areas is the main focus of the Suva rugby team as they take on Naitasiri in the Skipper Cup clash on Saturday.

Suva coach Saiasi Fuli yesterday made it clear to his players that they need to win possession in contact areas if they are to win the game.

“I’ve pretty much laid it out for the boys,” he said.

‘It’s simple we need to be more aggressive and more physical in our games.

“Contact areas are important, especially against Naitasiri.

“It is the basic principal and theme for the week for the boys and they know what they need to do on the field.”

Fuli said going against Naitasiri would not be easy.

“Another area we’ve been working on is discipline, we got two yellow cards last week and going up against a tough team we cannot afford to be reduced to 14 men.

“Naitasiri will punish us if we make a mistake so we need to be on point from the start.”

Suva will be without captain, John Stewart, Kalivati Tawake and Nikola Matawalu as they march into camp with the Vodafone Flying Fijians.

This weekend’s matches (with host union first):

Skipper Cup fixtures: Suva v Naitasiri, Namosi v Nadroga, Northland v Malolo, Nadi v Macuata

Vodafone Vanua Challenge: Ovalau v Rewa, North Bulls v Tailevu, Bua v Nasinu, Serua v Cakaudrove, Navosa v Tavua, Vatukoula v Ba, Lautoka v Yasawa, Ra v Nanukuloa
