Players Rewarded For The Solomon Islands Win

The Vodafone Fiji national team players will be rewarded for their win against Solomon Islands.

Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel confirmed that the players would be rewarded for the victory.

“We have given the incentives that if they win any international there will be bonuses to that and we have announced today (Sunday) that they will have bonus with their weekly allowance, “Patel said.

Patel said this was something and would keep rewarding the boys if they performed well.

“We are there to administer it, like I said we don’t make money from football, we are volunteers and we are there to make sure the players, coaches, officials and administrators that deserve will be rewarded accordingly,” Patel said.

The Christhope Gamel coached side held Solomon Islands 1-1 in the first leg at ANZ Stadium in Suva last Thursday and came out victors 1-0 in the second leg at Churchill Park in Lautoka last Sunday.

Defender Kolinio Sivoki was the hero for the side when scored in the 60th minute from a free kick just outside the penalty box.

The side now prepares for the match against New Caledonia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification-OFC Stage 3 Round next week.
