Pacific Cement Limited (PCL) is experiencing mill problems in relation to cement production.
Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Sowani Tuidrola said the mill had mechanical problems involving the trunnion gear box which was a primary component of the mill.
He said the trunnion gear was more than 60 years old and this was the first time they were changing the trunnion feed.
“Our engineering team have been working tirelessly for the past seven days and now have rectified this problem.
“The mill will be back in operation from midnight on a limited production capacity for the next 48 hours.”
Mr Tuidrola said they would also be importing some cement from New Zealand in the next few weeks.
