Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says if anyone wants to lodge a complaint against Police brutality, they are free to do so.

It comes after those who attempted to burgle a warehouse in Nadi recently were allegedly brutalised by Police officers. Alleged images went viral on social media.

However, no such complaint had been formally lodged with Police, Ms Naisoro confirmed.

She said when the officers arrived at the scene the alleged burglary was in progress. The suspects jumped from the top of the warehouse and sustained injuries.

“They also tried to flee from the scene, but were unsuccessful as they were apprehended by our officers,” Ms Naisoro said.

“If they or any party want to lodge a complaint against the alleged conduct of our officers they are free to do so and the Internal Affairs will conduct an investigation.”

The suspects are expected to appear in court today.
