Reddy Calls For More Productivity

We must become more productive, innovative, competitive and relevant if Fiji is to remain competitive in the face of increasing globalisation.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Mahendra Reddy while launching the Productivity Awareness Campaign in Nadi on Thursday.

“We need to make productivity our business so that in whatever we do there will always be a consideration of the quality of what we provide and the value it will create for the end users of our products and services,” Mr Reddy said.

“We must put our limited resources to prudent and effective use in order to yield higher returns.”

The theme for the 2017 Productivity Awareness Campaign is ‘Raising Productivity for Sustainability’.

The Productivity Awareness Campaign is an event organised by the National Training and Productivity Centre, in order to fulfil the objectives of the Productivity Charter.

The Charter, which came about as the result of an Agreement by Government, employers, employees, and civil society representatives, stipulating the necessity of generating an awareness campaign to ensure that all sections of the economy and the community at large are motivated towards improvement of quality, innovation and productivity.

The launch also starts a month – long Campaign, comprising workshops, seminars, APO trainings, FBEA training for evaluators, learning journeys, awareness activities and alumni events, all geared towards creating and raising awareness on productivity.
