Dreaming Big Bring The RelatiV To Reality

What began as a dream for three brothers has become a reality two years later for the band, TheRelatiV.
Manager and drummer, Benjamin Seniroqa, said the name behind the band was simple, ‘family and passion for music’.
“We’re originally an indie, pop and rock band but we usually play anything ranging from pop rock, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, blues, country, rock n roll, heavy metal, folk, disco and hip hop,” he said.
So far they’ve managed to release two singles ‘My Faith’ and ‘Still in Love’ and currently still working on more songs.
He said they were planning to do an album by the end of this year if things went as planned.
Having gone through hardships as individual musicians, the band members sought something different that would capture their interests. And growing up in a family of cousins and uncles that all played either as session musicians or in a band a motivating factor.
The band is about adding that love and happiness within every song that we play and we believe that that’s what brings people together.
You can catch the Suva-based band at the Thurston Food and Music Festival next month.
“We were actually shocked when we were approached to perform for the festival but we’re also happy that people still do believe in live music,” MrSeniroqa said.
Their long-term plan is to do original songs and aim to make it on the world stage platform and most importantly, make their parents and family proud.
The band members include: JoshTukana (Vocalist), JohnnySeniroqa (Guitarist/ Backup Vocals), NahshonFong (Bassist), Benjamin Seniroqa(Drummer/ Backup Vocals), Filipe Laulauvaki(Guitar Tech/ Back Up Vocals/ Front House Sound Manager), and Nelson Cokanasiga(Drum & Bass Tech / Backup Vocals / Stage Sound Manager.
You can catch TheRelatiV at Traps Bar on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10pm.
