Roy Krishna, who plays for Wellington Phoenix FC in New Zealand, will join the Vodafone Fijian football team in camp today.

This is in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Stage Three Oceania qualifier against New Caledonia at Churchill Park, Lautoka on Wednesday.

Krishna was in Labasa over the weekend to attend the Fiji Link third birthday celebration at Subrail Park in Labasa on Saturday.

“I am going to camp and it is up to Coach Christophe Gamel whether he wants me to play or not,” Krishna said.

“He is a great coach and has done a lot in four months. After his first win against Solomon Islands, the atmosphere and expectations are high.

“After the second leg in New Caledonia, I will go back to Wellington for the four months pre-season training begins.

“Our new coach comes from Europe so hopefully he brings new ideas so that we can do better and make the A-League playoffs.

“I want to do better than last season and hopefully the coach makes me play every week.”
