Government Member of Parliament Balmindar Singh was remanded in custody by the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday.

The case was called before Magistrate Sufia Humza.

Singh is charged with one count each of dangerous driving and failure to supply sufficient breath analysis on the direction of a Police officer.

It is alleged that on June 2, along Kings Road in Nakasi, Singh drove a motor vehicle in a manner which was dangerous to the public having regards to all circumstances of the case.

Prosecution has alleged that upon being required by a Police officer to provide specimen of breath that would enable the analysis to be carried out, Singh failed to provide such specimen of breath.

Police prosecutor Inspector Jiten Singh objected to bail on the grounds that a formal bail application should be filed.

The case will be called later today for a bail ruling.

Singh was represented by Nickisha Myres.
