As part of the Meetings and Events experience that the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa offers, the Insider Collection is a key defining point of difference for many of our local and international groups. The Insider Collection is made up of Insider Community, Insider Breaks, Insider Interactions, Insider Speakers and Insider Locations.

The Resort has just signed on two new speakers that will be available to engage with different groups that book events at Natadola Bay.

The two new speakers are Igelese Ete; Choir Director of Pasifika Voices (featured in the soundtrack to Disney animated movie “Moana”) and Head of Performing Arts at the USP Oceania Centre in Suva.

The second  is the former Australian Wallabies Captain and Australia’s highest ever internationally capped player; George Gregan. The two gentlemen form part of the experience for groups that need speakers for their events when staying at Natadola Bay.

By far, the most rewarding component of hosting events at Natadola Bay is the engagement with our local community and the impact that our groups are having on the livelihood of local villages, schools and  communities. The Insider Community is our way of engaging our groups to make an impact within our Tikina Malomalo community.

InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa and Malomalo Primary School of Natadola Bay recently broke ground at the local community school for the new building block for washrooms, school cafeteria and storerooms to cater for the increasing enrolment of students each year and for an improved healthy  learning  environment.

Over the past years, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa has contributed to the neighbouring community of Natadola Bay through the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Events (MICE) ‘Insider Collection’ program, ensuring the community grows and benefits.

As part of the IHG Brand Hallmarks, InterContinental Meetings allows groups to create truly memorable experiences that provide insider insights and authentic local knowledge on Fiji’s unique destination.

Through generous donations and participation in the InterContinental ‘Insider Collection’ programme, schools and the local Natadola community have previously benefited by projects that involved the complete repainting of Malomalo Primary School, provision of academic books, sports equipment and building of school desks and chairs and canteen for a number of schools in the area giving them access to resources necessary for a well rounded education and to encourage a healthy lifestyle for the next generation.

“From enhancing the learning environments in our local schools to preserving the health of our reefs and even participating in Fijian traditional dances, our ‘Insider Collection’ allows business delegates authentic memorable Fijian experiences with a real sense of community service,” said Mr David Pearson, Director MICE at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.

“Hosting PCO’s and groups allow us to promote Fiji as a fantastic MICE destination and bring immeasurable potential for Fiji’s tourism industry and economy as a whole.”

More development projects are in the pipeline, all aimed at continuously developing education and supporting schools in the Natadola Bay area alongside the resort’s Community Care Fund.

InterContinental Fiji’s Community Care Fund is the Resort’s commitment to both the environment and the local community in which it operates.

The Community Care fund finances numerous projects from donations from past guests. With the devastation to parts of the Fiji Islands from the recent natural disaster, Cyclone Winston, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa is also working with the Fiji’s Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to fund raise funds to contribute to the rebuilding of Fiji and getting the country back on track.
