President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote yesterday received the credentials from the non-resident Ambassador of the State of Qatar Naseer Bin Hamad Mubarak Al Khalifa.

Ambassador Al Khalifa presented his credentials at the State House after inspecting a 25-member guard of honour by officers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

Ambassador Al Khalifa attained Master of International Relations from the United States of America and Master of International Law from City University in London.

He began work as a media attaché at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington, and later worked in the State of Qatar embassies in New York, Paris, Korea and Italy.

Ambassador Al Khalifa was appointed Permanent Delegate of the State of Qatar to the United Nations where he worked for two years from 1996.

He was also an Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom and Washington.

The non-resident ambassador is based in Canberra, Australia.
