The Rabi Methodist Church has been fundraising to construct a church in Labasa.

This was confirmed by Rabi Methodist Church’s assistant administrator Viliame Luita.

Mr Luita said it had been a problem for many Banaban Methodists who resided around Labasa.

“The new church was to host all Rabi people in Labasa every Sunday so they could have a better understanding,” Mr Luita said.

“We have a piece of land in Nacula, where we are aiming to build a new church.”

He said their last fundraising was held last week at the Banaban Settlement in Labasa and collected $310.

“We will be having our fundraising every fortnight where we will have our soli and also sell food parcels,” Mr Luita said.

“We will also have raffles, sale of t-shirts and other fundraising events.”

He said they planned to organize a bazaar sometime in the year to assist them with the fundraising.

“But the bazaar is where we hope to get together to discuss how we can raise more funds for the new church,” Mr Luita said.

“The funds raised would be utilised to construct the church and the furniture for the church.”

Those interested and want to help for the construction of the church are requested to contact Mr Luita on 8791145.
