Rewa rugby reps received a much needed boost when they received their first set of muscle vests this week.

When they do their warm-up today before they run on to the field against Serua at Burebasaga District School ground, they will be wearing the new vests.

Thanks to the timely donation of Asenaca Delaibatiki of Muanaira Village, Vutia, Rewa.

Delaibatiki had been following the progress of Fiji Rugby Union B Division competition leaders. Last week she travelled with them to Levuka when they suffered their first loss of the season to Ovalau.

“I saw they had no muscle vests, so I decided to donate a new set. I hope that will help them in a small way and motivate them to do well,” she said.

She had been impressed with the young talents in the squad.

“I appeal to those who can help in any way to come forward and support the team financially and otherwise,” she said.

“They carry the flag of Rewa and all Rewans should be backing them.

“My whole family of 11 children love sports and we contribute wherever we can.

“Rugby has been an integral part of our family activities when the children were young and is still is today. It’s become part of our family traditions.”

Rewa coach Ro Alivereti Doviverata was grateful for the donation. He said it would help in lifting the players’ morale.
