St John’s College Under-18 rugby team aim to make their mark against Tailevu schools for the second week in a row today.

After upsetting defending champions Queen Victoria School 21-8 in Cawaci last weekend, the Ovalau school wants to achieve the same feat against Lelean Memorial School today.

The two teams collide in the fourth round of the Eastern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby while Ratu Kadavulevu School face QVS in the feature match at 2.50pm.

Coach Sefanaia Takape is confident the side can take the Coke Zero Deans title after they topple the Victorians last week.

“Like any other teams, our aim is to win the U18 title but first we have to qualify from the zone.

“Our preparations are on track and I have lifted the tempo during training and the boys have shown great commitment and dedication to the cause,” Takape said.

“We had actually lost to QVS in our first game and I was really impressed when the boys turned the table in a dramatic fashion last week.

“We are aware that Lelean will be a tough but we have a plan and we are promising nothing but exciting rugby.

“We will try to keep moving forward and maintain our winning performance.”
