Vodafone Fijian football coach Christophe Gamel is worried about today’s clash against New Caledonia in Noumea.

He said a number of key players are still nursing injuries and are yet to be cleared.

Already, Suva star striker Setareki Hughes has been ruled out with Andrew Naicker of Nadi coming in to replace him. The other injury worries are Christopher Wasasala and Iosefo Verevou.

“We had very less time for training, I tried to fix some problems but we will face a lot of problems against New Caledonia,” the no-nonsense coach said.

“Dislocation of elbow for Seta, Christopher have some problems on the toe, Iosefo had an ankle-twist during training.”

Gamel anticipates New Caledonia to field a powerful side to play in front of their fans.

“This game is also made to see how we will react in front of a big crowd as we know that New Caledonia team at home is very strong and powerful.”

Likely Fijian squad: 1. Tevita Koroi (GK), 2. Vuniuci Tikomaimereke, 3. Kavaia Rawaqa, 4. Kolinio Sivoki, 5. Remueru Tekiate, 6. Amani Makoe, 7. Epeli Saukuru, 8. Christopher Wasasala, 9.
