The boxing fans in the province of Nadroga Navosa are in for a treat as Kiran Boxing Promotions will host its next programme at the Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on August 12.

Promoter Ben Krishna also confirmed he is set to bring the vacant International Boxing Organisation (IBO) title to be hosted in Fiji where World Boxing Federation (WBF) title holder Sebastian Singh will fight an Australia opponent.

““It has been a while since a boxing programme is hosted in Sigatoka and I have been approached by businessmen to do it for the people of Nadroga,,” he said.

“I have already paid and booked Lawaqa Park and I’m working on my match-making which I will forward to the Boxing Commission Fiji in a fortnight.

Krishna is looking at accommodating 20 professional fights.

“I am looking at having Tomu Gaunavinaka, Siliveni Nawai, and Abhay Chand to be part of the programme,” Krishna said.

BCF chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai has confirmed that the programme will go ahead.

“So far Kiran has yet to submit some documents for his proposed August 12 so we can sanction his programme,” Mataitawakilai said.

“Hopefully, he will submit these before July 1 so we can vet his application in order to give him a month to carry out his promotion.”
