Telecom Fijiana coach, Iliesa Tanivula has retained most of the players from the last tournament for the last leg of the Women Sevens Series in Clermont, France.

Only three players Miriama Naiobasali, Reijeli Daveua and Alowesi Nakoci missed out due to injury. They have been replaced by Asinate Savu, Lavenia Tinai and debutant Lavena Cavuru.

Tanivula said it has been a long season for them.

“We managed to remain consistent,”Tanivula said.

“Currently we are 5th on the standings and our aim is to remain in the top 4 in order qualify for the Women Sevens World Cup next year.”

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive officer John O’Connor congratulated the team on their selection and he further challenged the team that they needed to perform well to finish at the top 4 of the series to automatically qualify for the Women Sevens World Cup.

“This should be the target and should be motivational for you to go out there and do your best,”O’Connor said.

The team departs on Monday.
