Police are searching for a man believed to be associated with the cultivation of more than 1000 plants assumed to be marijuana at Loa Village in Cakaudrove on Wednesday morning.

Police Chief of operations Rusiate Tudravu has identified the man as Sakiusa Basa who was also sighted earlier at the scene by the team.

ACP Tudravu said; “The alleged owner of the farm is Mr Basa and he had previously been involved in other cultivation cases.

Police is pleading to the public for information regarding Mr Basa’s whereabouts.

Information can be relayed to any police station or Crime Stoppers on 919.

It is also alleged that Mr Basa was also earlier involved in a cultivation case in Kadavu.

The plants which were seized after the Loa Village raid will soon be sent for analysis.
