Oil Company Backs Bati

Pacific Energy has come on board to support the Vodafone Fiji Bati team to the Rugby League World Cup through the ‘You Are Who We Are’ campaign.
At every participating Pacific Energy service stations every litre sold, one cent of the sale will go towards the funding of preparations for the Vodafone Fiji Bati team.
Fiji National Rugby League chief executive officer Timoci Naleba said yesterday with Pacific Energy coming onboard, it pushes the team in the right direction.
“Fiji Bati has always been privileged to be part of well-known companies, especially with the commitment from Pacific Energy, we are able to confidently say that we are on the right track,” Naleba said.
“It has been a long time coming to put a team together but I believe, compared to the last two world cups we have the team that can move our record up a notch this year.
“With this partnership with Pacific Energy will really help us get to the stage where we want to be in on October 27 in our first game against the USA.”
On behalf of the team, Bati forward Kane Evans said the sponsorship gives them the extra confidence on and off the field.
“On behalf of the team, we’re very grateful for this opportunity to come onboard and sponsor us,” Evans said.
“We obviously got Vodafone and a couple of heavy hitters behind us but just adding Pacific Energy, with that backing it will give us confidence not only on the field but off the field as well.
“We know we will be well looked after, these are all successful companies and we are all heading in the same direction.
“For us, on the field it is to win the world cup and for business they obviously want to grow so this is a good partnership and we got a good future ahead.”
Pacific Energy sales and marketing manager Rajnesh Prasad said they are proud to support the team and is urging the public to show their support.
“We are officially launching a partnership that the Fiji National Rugby League and the Pacific Energy has come together with the ‘You Are Who We Are’ campaign,” Prasad said.
“We are very proud to come on board and support our rugby league team and I urge all Fijians to come on board and support this cause by filling up your fuel at Pacific Energy and by doing so you are also helping support our team.”
Rugby League World Cup will begin from October 27 to December 2 and will be held in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
