PM’s North Tour Starts Tuesday

The Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, is expected to begin his three-day tour of the Northern Division on Tuesday, June 20. This was confirmed yesterday by the Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea.

The Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, is expected to begin his three-day tour of the Northern Division on Tuesday, June 20.

This was confirmed yesterday by the Commissioner Northern Jovesa Vocea.

Unlike previous tours, Mr Vocea said the PM would focus more on having talanoa sessions with the people of Tawake and Saqani districts in the province of Cakaudrove.

“On the first day of the tour he will open the new Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji office in Bua, teachers’ quarters at Immaculate Conception College, and teachers’ quarters, and a library and classroom at Ratu Luke Primary School,” Mr Vocea said.

“On June 21, he will open the suspension bridge at Korotari in Labasa, open the road show in Saqani, handover a fibreglass boat and engine, and commission a solar home system at Nabua Village and Nabua Primary School in Cakaudrove.

“On the third day the PM will commission the solar home system at Napuka Secondary School, Karoko Village and Vunisavisavi and then he will end his tour with the handing over of a fibreglass boat and engine at Nakobo Village.”

Mr Vocea said the PM would return to Suva in the Spirit of Harmony on June 23.
