Litter scattered openly at roadsides and secretly dumped in remote places are a matter of social shame for us all.
The act of littering is a sign of a growing throw-away society.
To grapple with the problem, civic education is a key.
But the basis of this type of education is our home.
It is the place where many “habits of the heart” are formed, observed an educator.
There has to be a transmission of values like the daily upkeep of our surroundings from parents to their children. For as we all know everything begins at home.
