Despite winning the Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament, Rewa football head coach Marika Rodu says, they will need to come down to earth ahead of their Vodafone Premier League clash on Sunday.

The Delta Tigers start their training today as they take on Labasa at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori on Sunday. Rodu said their win at the Fiji FACT plays no part in their focus and preparation for the premier league.

“It’s really important that we regroup after the weekend and the boys recover in time for our game,” Rodu said.

“While it was good that we won the Fiji FACT, playing in the premier league is a totally different competition altogether.

“Every game from here on is going to be tough and every team will be out to win so we need to step it up a notch.”

Rodu said to be consistent is important if they are to win and move up the points table.

“We need to make sure that we don’t drop in our level of performance but to keep improving and making sure that win our games. Consistency and keeping the momentum is very important, the boys need to focus on the next task ahead of them.

“Facing Labasa is never an easy game as you have seen in the Fiji FACT and I know they will not want to settle for anything less than a win.

“The players are fit to play, lucky for us there are no major injuries and we will get back into the gear by tomorrow.” Rewa will face Labasa at 3pm.
