McDonald’s has teamed-up with Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) to sponsor the Olympic Day Run.

This will be hosted in conjunction with the National Sports and Wellness Day event on June 30.

McDonald’s will provide 500 t-shirts and giveaways of meal vouchers as prizes for the day.

FASANOC chief executive Lorraine Mar acknowledged McDonald’s for the sponsorship.

“We’re happy to announce that McDonald’s has come onboard as the sponsor for the 2017 Olympic Day Run, is an event that is hosted globally within the Olympic family,” she said

“McDonald’s will participate in promoting the Olympic Fun Day Run which is estimated to have over 1000 participants in both Suva and Nadi. Participants will discover and experience a wide range of funs sports fun to participate in. This will not only increase sporting membership but help towards promoting physical activity for healthy living.”

McDonald’s marketing and people development manager Verenasi Wong is grateful for the opportunity to partner with FASANOC.

“McDonald’s is happy to come onboard and work with FASANOC on the Olympic Day Run. So we’re looking forward to it.”

The sports confirmed to be part of the celebration is soccer, rugby, basketball, baseball, chess, tennis, cricket and karate.
