Fiji super middleweight champion Opeti Tagi is going to fight his rival Abhay Chand for the last time on Saturday, June 30, at Prince Charles Park, Nadi.

This was after Tagi had convincingly won their previous two fights to claim the country’s middleweight and super middleweight titles.

“I wish to make it clear to him (Abhay Chand) that this will be the last time he will challenge me,” Tagi said of their eight-round fight.

“We’ve fought twice and I’ve won both times. So I hope he comes in prepared for the fight. I do respect him and giving him another chance. I can feel my body has picked up and ready for the ring.”

Tagi has called on the people of Naitasiri living in the West to be part of this boxing fiesta.

“I want to thank the commission and the promoter for setting up this fight and giving me a chance to showcase my talent because age is catching up.”

The 35-year-old has won 19 fights (11 KOs) of a total of 32 bouts since making his debut in 2000 at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Co-promoter Simon Naushad said, this is going to be a wonderful re-match and a humble request to the public to give their full support to the boxers.
