Indonesian Defence Task Force team celebrated Eid Mubarak in July, last year at the Queen Victoria School in Tailevu along with Fiji Muslim League and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Suva.

Ambassador of Indonesia to Fiji Gary Jusuf had previously said he was so delighted celebrating Eid Mubarak with all the troops and Indonesian citizens in Fiji.

“These troops are away from their family, it is my duty to serve them, because we are their family now.”

On the same occasion, the Commander of Task Force Major Abdillah Arif also conveyed his appreciation to the Indonesian Ambassador for arranging the event and also to the Defence Attaché Colonel Anggara Sitompul who have flew from Papua New Guinea just to celebrate Eid with troops.

The Indonesian Troops were in Fiji last year to rebuild the QVS School under the Fiji Government’s ‘Adopt a School’ programme; after it was damaged by the Tropical Cyclone Winston in February last year.
