The third International Day of Yoga at Labasa yesterday was aimed to fight Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD).

Indian High Commissioner Vishvas Sapkal said so while addressing the session at the TISI Sangam School of Nursing in Labasa.

Mr Sapkal said the one hour session brought together the nursing students, school lecturers, business stakeholders and the TISI committee.

Yoga sessions were held around Fiji from last Saturday and rounds off today at the Girmit Centre in Lautoka.

He said yoga is a mixture of physical and mental exercises and helps people to live a simple life and connect with nature.

About 3000 students had participated in the Suva yoga programme.
