The Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation TOPEX conference 2017 was labelled a success by participants.

The key message for business leaders was to ensure sustainability not only for Fiji but the planet earth. This tied in well the conference theme of “Responsible Business in a Green Economy.”

Chief Executive Officer FCEF Nesbitt Hazelman said businesses need to think about what they have learnt at the conference and how they are going to develop it in their organisation.

International speakers brought to light some global best practices through informative presentations that challenged participants to put into action.

With the Budget announcement later this week, Mr Hazelman said they continue to work with government in terms of the 2017-18 budgets.

The whole TOPEX programme itself is in support of our COP 23 presidency, according to Mr Hazelman.

“We’ve again reached the benchmark in terms of what the private sectors could do in assisting Government to achieve their objectives.

“We are a key and critical partner in Government and they call us the ‘Agent of growth.’”

At least 170 delegates attended the two-day conference held at the Shangri La’s Fijian Resort and Spa.

As Managing Director of Bright Future Films Mr Prasad said that in two days, he had secured five clients which normally take him months to do.
