Assistant Court Clerk in Nasinu appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday on a drink-driving charge.

Ashneel Prasad appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili in a special court sitting.

It is alleged Prasad was found driving under the influence of alcohol.

He faces one count of driving a motor vehicle whilst there was present in the blood a concentration of alcohol in access of the prescribed limit.

Police Prosecutor Jitendra Singh did not object to the bail.

Prasad was released on bail on the sum of $500 with two sureties and strict bail conditions.

He has to report to Nasinu Police Station every Saturday between 8am and 6pm.

The case was adjourned to July 19.
