FEO Job Seekers Must be Registered Voters

Those intending to apply for a job with the Fijian Elections Office (FEO), must be registered voter.

Anyone who is not a registered voter will not be considered for a position and the applicant will not be able to proceed with the recruitment.

As the Nationwide Registration Drive comes to an end today, the FEO has called on the voters to update their details or simply register.

FEO public relations officer Edwin Nand said it was important to remember that one of the key requirements for applicants was to be a registered voter.

“When the Recruitment Drive begins on July 28, 2017, applicants will have to present their Voter Card at the recruitment centre in order to proceed with their application,” Mr Nand said.

FEO had already announced the requirements for those who want to apply as Election Officials.

“We want to avoid a situation where applicants turn up at the recruitment centres and have to be turned away even before they get a chance to apply,” he said.

Meanwhile, the FEO has corrected details of 29,388 voters on the voter registration identification cards.

And a total of 61,028 voter cards have so far been replaced.

This all was done through the Nationwide Voter Registration Drive and today is the last day to access the nearby and convenient registration centres. FEO is encouraging people to use the remaining time.

So far, the FEO through its drive has assisted 200,475 voters and has registered 13,198 new voters, confirmed Mr Nand.
