Jack’s Nadi: 1(Rusiate Matirerega 1 goal) Rakiraki: 0

What happened: Jack’s Nadi defeated Rakiraki 1-0 in the Vodafone Premier League at Prince Charles Park last night.

Good start from both the sides in the opening 45 minutes with Nadi having experienced players like Rusiate Matirerega, Napolioni Qasevakatini and Ilimotama Jese dominated play. But they could not penetrate the Rakiraki defensive wall as the teams were locked scoreless at halftime.

The home side lifted intensity in the second half resulting in Matirerega scoring in the last quarter.

Big Play: Rakiraki goalkeeper Saimone Nabogi should be commended with his hard work as he made some crucial saves.

Star Turn: Nadi played an entertaining game and deserved to win.

Comments: Nadi team director Ashwant Singh said:

“This is a good build-up to the INKK Battle of the Giants tournament next weekend.”

Rakiraki head coach Pragdeesh Gounder said:

“The boys played well against an experienced Nadi side. Our target now is to try and win our remaining games and remain in the Super Premier Division.”
