The Boxing Commission of Fiji is sending a stern reminder to all individuals who want to challenge or fight in any programme to be registered first.

BCF chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai said; “We will not allow anyone to enter the ring from August if they have not registered with us regardless they have signed a contract.

“It is healthy during this period of professional boxing revival that boxers have come out to the media to challenge one another.

“But these challenges are dramas only because as of to date we have not received any registration. BCF is not levying any registration fee until 31 December 2017.

He added the BoxRec website may have records of Fiji boxers, but with the new board, the ranking list is outdated with most boxers have retired or in active.

In addition, the BCF will introduce new titles in each weight category from 2018. The current ones are no longer contestable since they belong to the several dissolved professional boxing associations after 2008.

“We are working with interested promoters who have indicated their interest to promote fights until the end of this year to sign in as many new boxers of each weight category.

“So by January 2018, we can have a good list of boxers registered under each weight category, with a provisional ranking list before each boxer can stake claims of the new title.”

Contact chairman on 8785589 or Usman Lale on 997 3229 and 707 1380 for Registration Form.

They can also contact the nearest Provincial Youth Administrator or known promoters to collect a form.
