What you can expect at Nila Beach Resort

Modern, clean, and spacious. Three words that echo a sentiment for the contemporary traveller who appreciates accommodation comforts.
These were the perfect elements for managing director Mohan Chinnusamy when he envisioned the rooms at Nila Beach Resort.
The property is situated at Vuda Point Road, Lautoka and is 15 minutes away from the Nadi International Airport. Mr Chinnusamy, who is well versed with the garment industry, set himself apart by focusing on Indian apparel that was more modern, functional, and livable that complemented the wearer’s surrounding environment.
Elements meet designs
He has longed believe that those same elements would translate well into the rooms that he was looking to design.
The rooms are designed for the modern traveller who really values space.
“I did the designs myself. The designs are all five star standard and even the room sizes are very big. I did it out of my own interest,” he said.
Fully aware that most properties on Denarau just cannot provide the room space to accommodate an open-air feeling, Mr Chinnusamy felt a niche for a contemporary, clean and spacious bure, which would be a welcome alternative to the Fijian market place.
Lighting and tone
Under this influence, the rooms were purposely fashioned in regards to two main factors: lighting and colour tone.
“The rooms have imported furniture from overseas, some of the imports came from New Zealand and everything else came from China, including the amenities, but the makers of the bathrooms are local.
“The curtains were made in China.
“(For) The colour of the rooms, we had an idea on what colour will suit the resort. And everything the pictures, table and desk; I designed it,” he said
Made to harmonise with sunsets, all rooms have clean white walls and light-coloured tiles that will naturally reflect the kaleidoscope of colours that a day produces.
The rooms allow the afternoon sun to effortlessly stream in as it starts to set right outside the main entrance.
This consideration for the daily sunset light shows what makes Nila very unique.
The vibrant louvers affectionately frame and complement the rich and darker tones of wood used for the bedding and closets.
The glass desk ensures that no light is hoarded and absorbed as it play fully gleams and sweeps light all across the room.
Bathroom
The bathroom was designed with a more softened, sepia tone allowing the tile and fixtures to subdue the mood for showering and indulging in the romantic spa bath.
“Too often a couple have to share a tiny, neglected part of their living experience.
“Here, they can spread out for the whole week and each can have their own section.”
With large mirrors and the extra space on a double long shelf to accommodate two people, the romance will continue even in this more intimate space.
The spa itself is extremely modern with a small waterfall, padded rests, and an all-purpose control panel that allows for music and lights.
If one is in the mood for a shower, the gigantic shower heads have an easy to pull liquid soap and shampoo dispenser making cleaning time even more fun.
Taking advantage of nature’s gift, Mr Chinnusamy has maximised the resort’s natural setting and offered discerning guests a pleasurable experience they would not soon forget.
“Each room has a 43 inch TV and the bathrooms are very big with a shower in every room, and if full air-condition,” he said.
Nila Beach Resort is the ideal environment to escape busy schedules and enjoy living on Fijian time.
