$120K For Fiji Car Club

Fiji Car Club (FCC) received a cheque of $120,000 from Pacific Energy in Suva yesterday.
This is for the hosting of 18 competitions for the next two years.
Pacific Energy lubricant manager Tapuaki Finauga made the presentation to FCC president Raizal Haniff.
Finauga said they would work closely with FCC to promote road safety to the public.
“The $120,000 is for two years for FCC to have 18 drag races.
“We will also work closely with FCC in spreading the road safety message and also we are also working with various sporting bodies,”Finauga said.
Haniff was overwhelmed with the sponsorship.
“This is one of the biggest sponsorships Pacific Energy has ever given us. Fiji Car Club has been chasing sponsors for a long time.
“With this sponsorship it will be a challenge for the committee to see that we host the 18 competitions successfully.
“This sponsorship will go towards the expenses of hosting the 18 competitions.”
The FCC will be hosting its first event of 2017 on Sunday with a quarter-mile drag race at the Nanuku Aerodrome in Pacific Harbour.
“It’s a relief that the landowners have agreed to give us another two-year lease to have our racing events at Nanuku,” Haniff said.
“We will also be writing to the Government seeking land to have our races and hopefully we get something by the end of the year.”
