Akapusi Qera’s last memory of playing against Samoa in Apia was not pretty.

Back in 2005, Qera’s first match against Samoa in Apia turned into a big fight.

He was not leading the team back then, but today, he returns to Samoa as captain and with a mission to fulfil – to win the Pacific Nations Cup title three times in a row.

The last time Samoa won the title was in 2012 (shared with Japan) and 2014. The Vodafone Flying Fijians won the title back in 2015 and last year.

Despite the home advantage for the Samoans, Qera said they were ready for the challenge today.

The test match kicks off at 1pm, and will be aired live on Fiji One.

Last week in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, the Vodafone Flying Fijians beat Tonga 14–10, which saw them win a spot in the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
