Practice Makes Perfect, Says Wilo

Renowned local artist, Wilo released his new single titled “The Belly of the Beast” last week.
He said the song is about his experiences, what he sees happening around and his message of encouragement and advice to the youths.
Wilo composed the song using a mini mixer, condenser mic and a PC. It took him two weeks to compose it and 2 to 3 weeks to put together, meaning late nights and time away from his family.
“The song is about my experiences going through life being unemployed, and struggling to gain skills with education,” he said.
“Thus I mention the importance of education more than once in the song, it is also about how so many youths lost their way due to lack of no direction and living them imprisoned.”
The passionate yet humble artist encourages youths not to get caught up with the hype of politics, and crime, but think about their future.
“Think about your goals and what you want to be and more importantly not to forget where you come from.”
The Raga-muffin artist inspiration came from artists like Damien Marley, Collie Buddz, Daddy Freddy and whole lot of Raga-muffin artist.
He also touched on issues that are happening around us that affect us, politics, war, and corruption.
“For me the drive is always coming from my passion for the genre itself, but mostly it is the only thing I called my own due to the fact that it is part of me from a very young age.”
Wilo’s biggest supporter is his wife, son, and family, the loyal fans and friends who have always been asking when his new song will come out.
“The drive to never quit was coming from them and I remember posting on my personal page that I was going to give up music, and there was whole lot of people telling me not to quit but to keep up the passion,” he said.
He’s currently working on three more songs that will be released soon. Also watch out for a new music video release for Belly of the Beast and the latest release with Cape Henslow the song “Daki Mai” is still in the shooting stages.
Wilo encourages all youths with love and passion for music not to give up, keep at it, and start building up a fan base, and lastly to practice, practice, practice, and yes practice makes your art perfect.
