Lunch Box Labasa was the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the 2017 INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament at Labasa’s Subrail Park yesterday.

They trounced Rakiraki 4-0 to tally six points on the table.

Labasa striker Christopher Wasasala scored a hat-trick with the fourth goal kicked in by Jonetani Buksh.

Labasa Football secretary Varun Anand expressed his appreciation to their coaches Gurjit Singh and Salen Lal for giving their time to work with the players.

Anand says the coaches have impressed the association and the fans.

“The result is an indication of their dedication and we are so happy,” Anand said.

He said Nadi and Suva’s one all draw in the match has automatically given Labasa the opportunity to qualify for the semi-finals.

“We are through to the semi finals and we are happy, we have no idea where the semi-finals will be but Labasa has secured their place,” he said.
