Fiji National University’s open day in three respective venues will have an influx of more than 40,000 students from 85 secondary schools over the next two days.

FNU pro vice chancellor Eci Nabalarua said this year’s Open Day which opens today was a notch better as they have also included booths for parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.

“We have introduced the parents’ and guardians’ booths for them to understand the alignment between subjects taught at secondary schools and students’ interests in university programmes,” Ms Nabalarua said.

“We have tried to make the two days customer friendly for all our customers,” she said.

There are more than 85 secondary schools within the vicinities of the three FNU campuses.

“We had more than 3000 students enrolled with us (FNU) this year from last year’s open day,” Ms Nabalarua said.

“We have had the confirmation of 40 secondary schools from the Central Division, but we are expecting more,” she said.

Nasinu campus is catering the Central Division, Namaka for the West and Labasa for the North.

She said they were in the process to enhance and increase the number of tertiary students enrolled at FNU for further studies including new and part time students.
