Team Fiji athletes and officials anticipate good exposure in the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) in Bahamas.

The official opening of the sixth CYG saw athletes from 70 nations take part yesterday.

Team Fiji chef de mission Tomasi Tiko said preparations are on track.

“We are looking forward to a good exposure for our athletes,” Tiko said.

“All teams have started training at the venues to get a feel of the competition.

“Our expectation is for our athletes to give their best.

“I’ve always been representing Fiji as the coach for teams but this time I am chef de mission and there is a lot responsibilities involved.”

The men’s sevens rugby team play their first game today.
