Students of Rishikul Sanatan College in Nasinu are advocating the importance of decision making in one’s life for next week’s Film Fiji and Fijian Made Film Awards in Suva.

This was confirmed by Milind Harishchandra Bhavsar, the supervisor of the school’s editing and production film team.

“I received a total of 15 scripts from the school and with the help of other teachers, we shortlisted three scripts. We then chose the script for the movie title ‘The Choice is Yours’,” Mr Bhavsar said.

“We chose this script because it portrays the very real message of making the correct decisions in life,” he said.

He also said the movie was easy to shoot and did not cost a lot.

“The movie is about two brothers who, while growing up, had different preferences,” Mr Bhavsar said.

“One liked to drink alcohol with his dad while the other pursued a career.”

“After some time, the father fell ill and died. Before the father died he had asked his son who loved to drink alcohol to change and have a vision.

“After the father died the son finally realised that he needed to listen to his brother to improve his way of life.

“He then apologises to his brother and promises him that he would work hard to earn himself a job.”

Krishay Sharma of Year 12E is representing his school in the Kula Art Award.

The theme for this year’s Art awards is ‘Çhildren of the Sun’.

The Fiji Film and Fijian Made Film Awards and the Fiji Airways Art Awards will be on July 28 at the Damodar Vimax Cinema.

The Fiji Link Dance competition will be on Saturday, July 29 at the Vodafone Arena.

The events, sanctioned by the Ministry of Education, will have 15 secondary schools taking part.
