Year 10 students of Jai Narayan College were one of the early birds to yesterday’s Fiji National University open day at Nasinu.

Shekinah Qiokata, 15, said the visit to open day was an eye opener for her.

“For me, the open day was educational and an eye opener because I was not sure what I wanted to pursue as my career and choose my subjects in Year 11,” Shekinah said.

“Due to the different and various programmes offered at FNU, I now know which field I want to study and the subject combination we need to work on,” she said.

“I am interested in studying Arts and Music which is widely offered at FNU campus and got my attention during my visit.”

Joshua Waqawai, 15, said after the open day visit, he was not double minded on what subjects he would take in Year 11.

“I was not familiar with a lot of subjects which could help me in my university life in the future but seeing the programmes offered at FNU and its requirements, now I am sure of what subjects I would chose next year that will help me with my further studies in university,” Joshua said.

Simione Nalawanivonu, 15, said he was interested in music but was not aware FNU offered music classes.

“I have been interested in music since childhood but I was not aware that FNU offered music classes too.

“I am certain that I will join FNU and take music as my further studies,” Simione said.
