Year 12 students of Saint Vincent College in Natovi,  Tailevu North braved the cold morning to be at the Fiji National University open day at Nasimu yesterday.

Pio Namai, 18, of Navala, Ba, said he wanted to gain more knowledge on the agriculture programme as he was from a farming background.

“I come from a farming background where my family farms vegetables and root crops, Pio said.

“I want to study agriculture so I can help my family better the farming business through my knowledge,” he said.

“When I came to the open day, I saw a lot of options such as medicine, arts, and other programmes offered at FNU but my interest is in agriculture because they have varieties of programmes in the agriculture sector that I can study.

“I know that when I complete my high school by the end of the year, I will join FNU and pursue my career in agriculture not only because I have a family farming background but because there is much more to agriculture that we should learn about than just farming.”
